I had the best weekend ever!!!! Mainly because I didn’t have to work so I had 4 days of total freedom!!!! I’m linking up with Becky today for Treat Yourself Tuesday because this whole weekend was a total treat!!!
Friday was a relaxation day! I got home from work at 9AM and went to bed until noon. At noon I got up and bummed around on my computer and watched TV. I was totally going to skip a workout but my dad yelled at me and told me to take the dog for a run ugh! So i felt guilty because Zoey and I were being lazy in bed and dad went running so I got up and went out for a quick little run. When I got back I did some squats, lunges and abs.
I’m so amazing with how awesome I’m getting at squats and lunges!!!! I thank Lee’s sculpt class!
After my quick workout I showered and dad and I headed to see a movie! We saw Neighbors.
Holy hilarious movie!!!!! We were both laughing the whole time! I’d definitely see it again and buy it when it comes out on DVD!
After our movie date I lounged around in bed watching TV and went to sleep!!
Saturday was FULL of fun! I woke up bright and early and headed to the farmers market in St. Paul. I got some fresh asparagus, a couple dog bones, lettuce, herbs to plant and flowers! It was definitely a successful trip and all for less then $40!
After the farmers market Zoey and I headed to Scott’s family farm!
This is Zoey… she is my parent’s dog. Maisy is at the cabin with Scott’s stepdad Vern so I didn’t want to leave Zoey at home alone all day so she came with me!
We had so much fun at the farm!!! Zoey ran around like a mad woman! I checked out the steers.
Such curious animals! haha Hello future beef
Just a side note…. I do not mean to offend anyone. I eat meat. I know where my meat comes from and that is just the circle of life. I 100% respect anyones decision not to eat meat!
Back on track…. after checking out the steers it was time for dinner. Incase you didn’t know dinner in farming land is lunch They call it dinner because it is the biggest meal of the day.
We had a typical farmers meal meat, potatoes, gravy and corn! And of course dessert…. there is tons of dessert all the time! Thats the one negative but positive about the farm… haha…. will power isn’t always my strong suit.
After dinner I headed out into the field with Scott’s cousin Stacie. She drove and I was her official rock picker.
I got a great workout climbing in and out of the tractor to fetch rocks and I got some quality time catching up with Stacie so it was a great afternoon! Stacie also saw that I have a new love for kefir so she gave me some of her water and milk kefir grains to make my own!!!!
After riding in the tractor I headed to check out the chickens!
Five of these babies are mine for future meals (sorry again to those who don’t eat meat)
Apparently the chickens are in their ugly stage right now where they don’t have feathers yet… haha…. they do look goofy but in a cute kind of way
After checking out the chickens we headed back out into the field. They are planting right now so it is a busy time at the farm.
Zoey and I headed back home after a full days of work on the farm!
I had another busy day planned for sunday! I headed with my parents in the morning to get a million flowers to plant in the front and back of the house. This was my first time helping my mom with planting flowers so it was quite the experience. She is kind of crazy about her flowers but everyone rants and raves about them because they are so pretty!
I planted both of those pots! Not to bad
After planting all the flowers we bought in the morning we realized we needed a few more so we headed for lunch and to get some more flowers!
I absolutely LOVE pei wei! I used to work there is high school and I’d say I’m kind of obsessed. I was so excited for my salad that I forgot to take a picture because I mixed it all up
I’m super excited about my tomato plants and peppers that I planted!
And herbs of course!!!!!
After we finally got all the flowers planted we relaxed in a the sun for a little bit and then headed golfing.
My plan of attack for golf…. a Mike’s hard lemonade! I think it helped….. I golfed semi decently…. for me at least
When we got home from golfing we made dinner and had homemade popcorn for dessert!
Sweet and spicy popcorn anyone?!?! It was so good and a great way to end sunday!!!!
My last day off from work….. I started my day off with a smoothie!
This yummy smoothie featured my homemade milk kefir! Seriously guys milk kefir is so easy to make and so much cheaper then buying it!!!!
After breakfast I got ready for my favorite workout of the week Sculpt with Lee!!!! It was an intense workout!
I can tell I’m getting more in shape because my average heart rate and max heart rate are a lot lower then they used to be!
After sculpt I headed home to work on some homework, shower and go to Trader Joes. The rest of the evening I spent hanging out with Scott.
I loved every moment of my long weekend…… now it’s back to the real world and working again!
